Details of Disney Magic

The Mature MouseTM visits Walt Disney World because it is more than a theme park. A tour of a Disney Park is an intensive experience. Plans for Disney Hollywood Studios, announced at the recent D23, reflect the Imagineers plans for intensifying that experience.

During my recent trip to Disney World, I took some time to capture some of those details in the various parks. The magic of a Disney Park is imbedded in those features; it is the quality that makes a Disney Park more than just another theme park. Imagineers went to great lengths to design an atmosphere that enhances the storytelling. This attention to detail surrounds you at Disney’s resorts, four theme parks, and 2 water parks.

Below are images from my recent visit to Walt Disney World. You should also visit The Theme Park Tourist to read their list of  10 Absurdly Intricate Details at Walt Disney World That Most People Never Notice.

A travel agent who specializes in booking Disney Vacations is a valuable free resource when planning your next trip, and will assist you in choosing the right resort for your stay at Walt Disney World. I started planning my recent trip by calling Jennie Nowers. When Cool Summer Savings was released, Jennie was up early applying these savings to my trip, which saved me 15% on the price of my resort stay. I did not need to do a thing. Tell Jennie that The Mature Mouse™ sent you and receive a special gift with your next booking.

Disney restaurants themed for classic attractions

Check out this post at Theme Park Tourists. They have come with an interesting list of 8 ideas for themed eateries based on classic Disney attractions. As I have stated many times, The Mature Mouse™ is a fan of the Haunted Mansion. I would love a restaurant themed after this classic attraction. People would be dying to go there! (I couldn’t resist.)

A Dreamer’s Take on Disney’s “Tomorrowland”

Screen Shot 2015-06-04 at 3.40.59 PM“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”  Walt Disney was a dreamer. He had the courage and determination to make those dreams a reality, and then Walt shared those dreams with the world. “Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future . . . with hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”

Tomorrowland, the new Disney movie, reflects the dreams and ideals of Walt Disney. It was his plan to create a new experimental community that would improve the world in which we live, building a better tomorrow. The futuristic world in Tomorrowland is just that, a prototype community where all the dreamers would make their ideas a reality, thereby building a better world. However, things go wrong. Humanity looses its need to dream, choosing instead to accept what is, allowing the destruction of what could be. The point of the film is to encourage us to continue to dream, and to have the courage and determination to make those dreams come true.

As a fan of the Disney Parks, The Mature MouseTM is drawn into the imagined world that Walt built because they are places where dreams do become a reality, if only a short time. Walt Disney World and Disneyland are greater than any amusement park. The Disney Imagineers bring to life the realms and experiences of our collective memories, as Walt had done. Whether it is a walk down the quaint Main Street, a thrilling train ride through a mining town, a visit with not-so-scary ghosts, or dinner with a beast; for a few moments we escape from the humdrum of our everyday lives.

Athena offers Casey Newton an opportunity to experience Tomorrowland, if only for a few fleeting moments. Together, with the help Frank Walker, these dreamers struggle to return to Tomorrowland, and renew the possibilities of our future. Walt Disney had plans for EPCOT, a city where the possibilities of our future could be tested today. Unfortunately, EPCOT has yet to fulfill Walt’s original plan.Screen Shot 2015-06-04 at 3.43.06 PM

Maybe someday, if Disney fans continue to dream, and Imagineers have the courage and determination necessary, it could become a reality, the way it does in Tomorrowland. After all, as Athena says in the movie, “Dreamers need to stick together.”

When the Disney Dining Plan Is Not For You

The Mature Mouse™ has recently posted several articles about Free Dining at Walt Disney World. Given the overwhelming response to the recent release of this offer, and the technology glitches that plagued travel agents and guests attempting to book vacations, the Dining Plan is obviously an important topic for Disney vacationers. However, just because the Dining Plan is offered as free, is it worth the value? And, more importantly, when is the Disney Dining plan not appropriate for your vacation.  Disney Dining has posted an article that speaks to this question to assist you in determining if a dining plan is right for you.

A travel agent who specializes in booking Disney Vacations is a valuable free resource when planning your next trip. I started planning my next Disney World Vacation by calling Jennie Nowers. When the Cool Summer Savings were released, Jennie was up early applying these savings to my trip, which saved me 15% on the price of my resort stay. I did not need to do a thing.
