The term backstage is used at Disney Parks to refer to all those things a guest cannot see. Although some fans want to experience the workings behind the scenes, most people do not want to spoil the magic Disney Imagineers have created. 

I am about to let you see a bit of the backstage of the blogging. The Mature Mouse™ is created using WordPress. This software compiles data, like the number of followers. The most significant piece of data registered by WordPress is the number of daily views of a specific post of any given blog.

A view is calculated only if the post is opened. Regardless if you receive a post via email, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or Google+, a view is counted only when the post is opened.
